denn Hochmut kommt bekanntlich vor dem Fall
die Rache von Leto, gnadenlos und brutal
ihr Schicksal war grausam, zu Fels verhärtet und fahl,

Und Pfeile regnen auf alles was Niobe liebte
die Strafe für Verachtung und Vermessenheit
Und ihre Tränen fließen, aus Stein in Tal hinab
zurück bleibt blasse Trauer und die Einsamkeit

Der Tod hat alle Söhne, doch schwebt sie in Selbstherrlichkeit
Am Ende, ihr Flehen, am Ende half kein Flehen
Als auch die Jüngste zu Füßen im Staub versank
erstarrte sie leblos, als ihr Blut zu Stein gerann
